Limited Submission Nomination Process
Some private foundation opportunities limit the number of proposals an institution may submit. In these cases, UMass Amherst conducts an internal nomination process to determine which proposals move forward to the funder.
Internal Nomination Review
When a limited submission opportunity is announced, interested faculty submit an internal application through UMass InfoReady. Applications are reviewed by a campus committee that selects the nominee(s) who may proceed with preparing and submitting a proposal to the funder.
Nomination Review Committee
A committee of the following campus leaders selects nominees who may move forward with preparing and submitting an application to the funder:
Vice Chancellor, Research & Engagement
Associate Vice Chancellor, Research & Engagement
Vice Provost, Research & Engagement
Associate Vice Provost, Academic Affairs
Associate Deans of Research from each applicant’s college
